Makeovers are a popular thing nowadays. People get their looks made over, their wardrobes, even their homes.

Although, the concept isn’t new for me as an illustrator. I’ll go through my computer and clean house from time to time. Sometimes I’ll come across an old illo that I like, but feel it can be updated (made over).

This is one of those occasions. I found this young woman I illustrated a few years ago. Still liked the concept, but I felt that the final outcome could be improved.

So last night I began working on this woman (I haven’t named her). A lift here, change the line there, new color here—and so far it’s still a work in progress. Only because I have other responsibilities and obligations.

For now I will post the work in progress, just for the hell of it. I’ll even do a before and after so you can see the difference between both concepts.
