Halloween 2010 Shirt

I’m kind of late with this post, but as they say “better late than never.”

We got dressed up for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween, but the other 2 times we went trick-or-treating with our daughter, I just wore a hand drawn t-shirt with some fun skulls on it.

I chose a ragged shirt since I knew the ink wouldn’t stick after washing. I also figured an ugly shirt would add to the scariness of Halloween.

Girl Scouts

Between the holidays in full effect and the new baby, I have been absorbed in life.

Luckily I’ve got some nice projects going on. This one in particular is for the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida. It’s on organization that I’ve been wanting to do work for. Especially since they updated their brand.

Here are a couple of concepts for a poster. I’ve had fun with it so far but it’s still a work-in-progress (i.e will be getting feedback and making revisions).

To try and keep with their branding, I reviewed the guidelines that were posted on Brand New. Although I didn’t completely adhere to it as far as composition goes, I did use their specific colors, which made things easier. Gotta love parameters!

Quickie Monsters

Here are some quick monsters done in Illustrator. These were completely digital. I sketched and finished them all in Illustrator. It was fun, and quick. Hence the post title.

AIGA Social at Our Gallery Space

Last night, the Orlando AIGA held it’s social at our gallery space at the UCF Center for Emerging Media in Downtown Orlando. It was a nice turnout.

I got to catch up with a couple of people I haven’t seen in a while and I got to meet another designer new to the area.

We talked about screen printing and how much I’d love to do my own prints. So hopefully I’ll get to check out the set up they have so I know what I need.

I’d like to set it up in my garage. Eventually. Right now I’m cleaning house and there’s a lot of stuff to get rid off. Once the garage is cleared, I’ll be able to start setting up the screen printing area.

Which means that I may (potentially) have an Etsy page. Or some sort of online store front. But this is down the line.

The GIANTs are already working up our next project, which I’m also looking forward to.

Can’t release any details for fear that Vic might kill me.

Stay tuned.
